Honolulu organist John Renke will perform a recital at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Kula on November 1 at 6pm. Free admission. John is Director of Music at St. Andrew’s Cathedral in Honolulu. He is passionate in his various roles as an organist, conductor, composer, liturgist and teacher. He has held positions in the San Francisco Bay Area’s most prestigious churches, including Grace Cathedral, St. Mary’s Cathedral, and the National Shrine of Saint Francis of Assisi where he founded the internationally acclaimed SCHOLA CANTORUM SAN FRANCISCO. In addition to his cathedral duties, John is the Dean of the Hawaii Chapter of the American Guild of Organists, serves on the Board of Directors of the Honolulu Symphony Chorus, and is a popular recitalist, performing throughout the United States, Europe, and Australia.
